Dr. Javeed Nayeem’s write-up on four-laning the road up to Chamundi Hill is timely, accurate and necessary. The whole of Chamundi Hill is a heritage precinct that is part of the heritage buildings and precincts list submitted to the Government of Karnataka. The heritage value for Chamundi Hill is not only by the ancient Chamundeshwari temple and Nandi Statue but also the forest and the steps leading to the top through the forest.
