The Commonwealth Games (CWG) Express will chug in here on August 30 and will be stationed here for three days till September 1.
The train, with five bogies, will highlight the sports history of the country and Commonwealth Games. While the first coach gives a brief introduction about CWG, participating nations the mascot Shera, the Queen's baton relay and its journey to New Delhi, the second coach details about various venues and games.
![]() The fourth coach will showcase the portraits and action pictures of Indian sports persons, who include medalists in various international competitions. The fifth coach will belong to Indian railways and will give the details of the
Railways efforts in nurturing sports and sportspersons in the country and star performers from Railways.
The train from here will move to Bangalore and remain parked on the platform number 3 for three day from September 1. On September 5, it will reach Hubli before moving to other states.
