Nikhil Enterprises, a Bangalore-based company, was reportedly entrusted to install high quality spy (CCTV) cameras at 40 selected places in city for a contracted price of Rs. 5.9 crores and Rs. 70 lakh has been already paid as advance but the company has reportedly installed the cameras at only four places for unknown reasons.
When Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal began explaining the camera system to media persons and sought a few clippings taken near the Mysore Palace. The outsourced company representative Veeresh who was present was reportedly in a piquant situation and was repeatedly beaming visual shots taken near Corporation office and Millennium Circle.
When insisted to show visuals taken near the Palace, Veeresh reportedly got further perplexed and said that only 10 cameras have been installed, six on Dasara procession route and four near toll gate.
When asked to show clippings shot near toll gate, Veeresh allegedly gave evasive reply saying that there was no power and changed his stand saying BSNL had not provided the network.
When the Police Commissioner took Veeresh to task to spell out the facts, the latter came out with the startling revelation that the cameras had been fitted at only four places and assured to install them at all designated places soon. |
